Copenhagen Airport is just 9km from central Copenhagen at Kastrup. There are several options for getting to and from the airport by public transport:
The metro runs every 5 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes at night. The journey from the airport into central Copenhagen takes 15 minutes. The station and ticket desks are located in Terminal 3. A single ticket costs 36kr but you can also buy travel cards (Klippekort), details of which can be found on the Copenhagen Metro website.
Trains run between Copenhagen Airport and Copenhagen Central Station (Hovedbanegården) every 10 minutes and take around 15 minutes. Trains are operated by DSB and there's a guide on how to book tickets on the DSB website.
The DSB ticket office and platforms are located in Terminal 3. A single ticket costs 36kr and 18kr if you purchase a travel card (Klippekort). There are also direct trains from the airport to Helsingør (sometimes known as Elsinore) and Sweden (Malmö and Ystad), with onward connections to Bornholm.
Buses to and from the airport
Bus 5A runs from Copenhagen Airport (Terminal 3) to central Copenhagen. The fare is 36kr, 18kr with a travel card. You can buy cash tickets from the driver and tickets and travel cards from the DSB ticket counter in Terminal 3.
A free shuttlebus service operates between Terminals 3, 2 and 1.
A taxi from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre costs around 200kr during the day and 250kr at night and on weekends. Prices include tax and tip, but if you have large items, such as bikes or luggage that need to be fixed to a rack outside the vehicle, you will be charged more. There is a taxi rank outside each of the Copenhagen Airport terminals.
