Christmas in Denmark

Christmas, more than any other holiday of the year, is associated with traditions. A proper Danish Christmas is an old-fashioned Christmas, and the Christmas tree with its decorations, the Christmas songs, and - not least - the food should preferably be like when we were children. Christmas is also called the “Festival of Hearts” which means that it is a time to be kind to each other. Therefore, it is also a time of the year, where first and foremost the family, but also friends, are important. With home baking, candles, decorations and intimacy, it is the month where the special Danish concept of “hygge” (cosiness) really makes sense. At this time, we gather and spoil each other and ourselves.
