In 1998 a cloister garden was opened by Mariager Museum. Here you can see for instance the medicinal plants which are still growing in the area around the Abbey of Mariager, now the Judge's Office.

September 8th 2000, a sculpture by Niels Helledie, was revealed. The sculpture was a gift from the people in connection with the town anniversary in 1992. The sculpture is called "The weak woman with the gigantic burdens" or "The nun in the cloister garden".
