Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli is a must for all children and those who like to play. Tivoli is located just a few minutes walk from City Hall, and with the Copenhagen Central Station as its nearest neighbour it is very easy to get to.
In 2013 Tivoli Gardens will present a new 600 m2 Tycho Brahe area with three new rides, one of them being the 4G ride Aquila, live music on the programme every day, fireworks every Saturday and international artists like Sting and Suede live on the open air stage.
Tivoli is expanding
In 2013 Tivoli will open its doors and present the garden's 600 m2 expansion. The extra square metres offer you three new rides in a Tycho Brahe themed area.
The wildest new ride, Aquila which means Eagle, lets you climb on board on the giant eagles and experience Copenhagen upside down at breakneck speed. Danish amusement expert Lars Nielsen rates the 4G experience 8 out of 10. Watch our test ride of Aquila here.
The second new ride is not quite as wild. It is a 8 metre tall rotating Star Tower. The third and last new ride is a redesigned and interactive version of the classic Tivoli ride The Little Dragon.
The other rides
Tivoli is the world's second oldest amusement park and is one of Copenhagen's most famous attractions. Tivoli is filled with wild rides, green oases, gourmet food, and rock concerts - and much more.
The Demon, the Golden Tower and Vertigo can challenge the big, while The Flying Trunk, The Little Aviator and Veteran cars are a hit with the kids.
Live music every day
Last year Tivoli introduced the music week, which means that every day in Tivoli Gardens you get to experience a different music genre live on one of the stages. The music week continues in 2013.
Tivoli has three outdoor scenes, with lots of live music - both Danish and international artists. Every Friday throughout the summer season there is Friday Rock at the lawn.
In 2013 Tivoli will also be able to present international artists Sting and Suede live on the open air stage Plænen.
Fireworks and 170th birthday
The old amusement park is from 1843 and thus celebrates its 170th birthday in 2013. It is a garden full of tradition. At Tivoli there is something for everyone.
The garden is not only full with rides and adventures, but can also offer a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Here you will find green areas, lakes, fountains and beautiful flowers.
Fireworks is an old tradition in Tivoli. In 2013 you can experience fireworks every Saturday and on Tivoli's 170th birthday 15 August 2013.
Between Christmas and New Year there is the Tivoli fireworks festival with fireworks everyday.
Autumn and Christmas
Every year at the autumn holiday Tivoli is transformed into an enchanted autumn universe full of witches, pumpkins and lanterns. All rides are running as they do from the middle of November and throughout December, where Christmas in Tivoli opens its doors.
