In 1992, when a new stretch of motor way was to be built from the Little Belt Bridge to E45, a large ploughed up grave mound was found near the village of Tårup. As it turned out, the grave mound was a 3400 year old bronze age mound built on top of an ancient stone age mound.
For traffic reasons, the mound had to be moved and now sits at Skærup pull-in East. During reconstruction, the mound was split up into two parts and are seen as such today.
