Bønnerup Harbour used to be a tiny island-harbour connected with the village by a wooden bridge. It was not connected with the mainland until 1968. The village of Bønnerup Strand was founded by 4-5 families more than a hundred years ago. They settled here as fishermen and gradually the community grew. The old fisherman’s cottages can still be seen along the waterfront.
