Brygge Bridge was the first bridge over the harbour in Copenhagen in 50 years. It connects Havneholmen to Islands Brygge and is part of Copenhagen's system of walking and biking paths.
Brygge Bridge was built in 2006 and is 190 meters long and 5,5 meters wide. It's right behind Fisketorvet on Kalvebod Brygge and goes all the way to the other side near Gemini Residence on Islands Brygge.
The bridge is reserved for cyclists and pedestrians and provides a shortcut, especially for students at Copenhagen University Amager and the IT-University in Ørestad.
Brygge Bridge has integrated lighting in the handrails and the underside is being lit up by luminaires built in the tires.
Possibility of passage
The bridge is a swing bridge which gives it the opportunity to open up and let boats sail through.
