Denmark's oldest fish festival
If you want to experience an authentic Westjutlandic festival, where the sea, fish, culture and entertainment blend to make an unforgettable day, make sure you go to Thyborön on the 4th of August 2018.
It’s a tradition where the locals of Thyborön, a fishing village at the canal of the Limfjord's western outlet into the North Sea, celebrate and enjoy the local fish. It is a must to offer free fish meals to all guests that the Fishermans Association prepares. It's a place where the whole family can come together in play and the famous danish ,,hygge”. The children partake in play, fishing for crabs, play a ,,snowslope”, and dance with the grownups.
The music is danish irish folkmusic, played by Törfisk, Denmarks oldest boyband, that is without doubt, among Thyboröns most famous sons. And an unmissable part of the annual fish festival of Thyborön is bidding on a fish at an auction and make a bargain at one the stalls that sell local food and handcraft.
