Gertrud Berg Ceramics

Hand thrown pottery with soul and personality

"For me, a love for pottery - both low and hard burnt - encompasses a wide variety of different expressions."

Gertrud Berg was born in 1952 in Germany. She has a degree in ceramics from Aarhus Art Academy. Gertrud has, as a pottery maker, worked creatively and artistically with pottery for more than 30 years.
In her shop and ceramic studio, you can find a large and diverse selection of ceramics series' and unique items. Everything is suitable for everyday use and can go in the dishwasher and oven.

"I love to explore and challenge my material and the possibilities of the tools and the expressions my fingers can leave in the clay. It’s exciting to break the round shape with drawn lines, dents, waves, edges etc. I love to create things with a living and unconventional expression, especially in my ash glazed and hard burnt pottery, and my ceramics showcase this more and more."

The pottery is identified through a great variation in both shape, colour and design and it is constantly being redeveloped.

Gertrud Berg has a Christmas exhibition every year, often with guest exhibitors, in her lovely “ceramic house” in Nørre Vissing, where she has established both a ceramic studio and shop since 1983. Here, she offers workshops through AOF Skanderborg and small groups on her own accord.
