Høstemark Observation Tower

The village of Mou, in the north-west of Municipality of Sejlflod, is surrounded by unspoiled countryside. For example the woods of Høstmark, one of the areas in Denmark which is fenced in, is used today as nature reserve.

The woods are owend by Aage V. Jensen's Foundation, whose aim is "retention of nature and protection of wild life."

The woods have an areal of about 500 ha., 400 ha. of which are fenced in. The woods give shelter to 200 deer, innumerable plants, fungi, insects etc. Some of these are so rare that they are only found here.

If you wish to visit the tower and maybe see the eagles take the following route:
Leave Mou by the road called "Ny Høstmarkvej". On your left you'll find a gravel road called "Skovridervej".Turn here and continue until you get to a car park where the road ends. Walk the rest of the way (about a mile) to the tower.
