Hou Church

Hou Kirke is from 1900 and is a village church.

The golden cross, which now sits above the entrance, was from the beginning altar decoration. The letters on the Cross "ISH" is the first letters of the name Jesus in Greek. But someone with strong Vendelbo fad, has classified the letters as "The Poor Houboere (people, who live in Hou )".

If you want to know more about Houboerne, the church and the village society of origin, you may read Henry Gjødde Nielsen's book "Hou Church", which is available for Hou Church's 100th anniversary.

The book can be purchased at Hals Museum and at InfoCenter Hals.
