International MINDchallenge final: And the winner is...
Following an exciting afternoon packed with great pitches the winner of VisitDenmark and Wonderful Copenhagen's pioneering international MINDchallenge 2012 final was declared; IdeenReich of Germany.
On 1st August 2012, IdeenReich convinced the international MINDchallenge jury – Mr. Jayson Weston of Indesit, Ms. Anthea MacKay of Barclays, Ms. Christine Fuchs of TW – Tagungswirtschaft, and Meetovation-specialist/owner of Concept+Competence, Ann Hansen – that they genuinely are as inventive and creative as their company name states!
Set onboard the übercool Danish houseboat "Denmark House" anchored at IMAGINATION, a designated Denmark area during this summer’s Olympic Games in London at St Katharine Docks, IdeenReich defeated its four highly creative and professional competitors from the UK, US, Norway and Sweden with their inspirational fictional case of staging an international business meeting in Copenhagen.
In so doing, IdeenReich won a one-day meeting for 50 persons in Copenhagen including accommodation, generously sponsored by the internationally acclaimed Bella Sky Comwell Hotel in Copenhagen (estimated value of DKK 125,000).
Earlier this spring, IdeenReich won the local MINDchallenge in Germany and thereby qualified for the international MINDchallenge final in London.
Klaus-Peter Wenz and Cèlia Hohmann of IdeenReich, share their thoughts on winning the out of the ordinary business events competition:
"We are thrilled to win the international MINDchallenge final and very excited to be here. Throughout the MINDchallenge we've been impressed with the innovative Danish approach to staging business events and we've learned a lot about the destination and, of course, the Danish Meetovation concept. In fact, we now use the Meetovation principles in our daily work too!"
"The atmosphere at the MINDchallenge final, the great sportsmanship amongst us competitors, the well-organised event, getting useful feedback from a highly skilled jury and the buzz from the Olympic Games, has made this a super journey and a very memorable event indeed," Wenz and Hohman continue.
The winning team received their 1st prize and had a triumphal walk through the Danish area before heading towards the real Olympic Stadium to watch the women’s preliminaries in Handball.
Prior to returning to Germany, the winners spent the morning re-visiting the IMAGINATION area to participate in a surprise "Discover Denmark" quiz and to get a traditional Danish ‘Taster’ onboard an impressive, old three-mast schooner "Maja" owned by Danish Crown and moored at St Katharine Docks during the Olympic Games.
Next up in the unusual Danish "MINDblowing Meetings" campaign is the popular MINDevent which will take place on 15-16th November 2012 in Copenhagen.
Markus Diefenbach, International Marketing Manager – Business Tourism for VisitDenmark, reveals:
"After MINDchallenge comes the highly original MINDevent 2012 located in Copenhagen, which again is part of our MINDblowing Meetings campaign aiming at increasing professional Meetings Planners’ knowledge and preference for Denmark and for our Danish Meetovation concept."
"The aim is to make a difference and reach out to our international clients and generate more leads to Denmark and the key message of our MINDblowing Meetings events in 2012 is pretty straight-forward; Denmark is the place to go to stage inspiring and innovative meetings with a greater return on meeting investment too! It's simply were you will get a MINDblowing Meeting - just as IdeenReich and their capable rivals proved yesterday with their excellent Copenhagen picthes!", Diefenbach continues.
