Inge Nepper Backmann is a self-taught artist. She has attended courses at Kunstakadamiet in Aarhus and at the International Ceramic Center, Skælskør.
The inspiration comes from traveling abroad and from the North Jutland landscape by the sea, where she resides.
Inge Nepper Backmann has for many years modeled with clay shaped like large dishes and pots. Recently she has begun modelling people in various everyday situations.
In her paintings she uses an expressionistic style with many colors and large brush strokes. The themes of the paintings are cities and spring.
