Lovely nature is all around Korsør, and even present in the middle of the city – although in a tamer form – in the town centre park, Byparken.
Byparken was created on the old railway grounds. Year by year, the area has taken on more and more character, and today it is like a big, lush common.
For children of all ages, there’s plenty of scope for play and sports all year round: a lovely nature playground with play sculptures made from whole tree trunks can challenge the imagination. Water pools where the children can paddle and sail boats. At the roundabout by Kongebroen bridge is Byparken’s skateboard park, fitted out with various challenges in the form of steps, ramps and rails. In winter, Byparken’s toboggan run is a big hit with children of all ages. The town park was given the Open Air Council Green Leaf Award a few years ago - granted for initiatives taken to promote particular scenic qualities in open areas: An amphitheatre, a rose garden and an activity centre are some of the features of the Town Park.
