The Lille Vildmose Centre has fantastic, interactive exhibitions for both children and adults about the bog’s nature and connection with human activity. See films about the bog in the cinema, take a flight in the eagle simulator and play in the new nature playground.
In the exhibitions, you can hear about why the bog is one of the most recent landscapes in Denmark, as well as man’s relationship with the bog in the past, and get to know the bog’s animals and plants. The exhibition is divided up into four areas:
- The bog’s formation
- The bog and human activity
- The bog’s plants and animals
- Experiences in the bog
You can also take and see live photographs using the cameras placed in the unique natural woods, Tofte and Høstemark, as well as near Toftesø, and see the plants and small creatures in the experimentarium. There are also various activities at the Lille Vildmose Centre, including guided bus tours.
At the Lille Vildmose Centre, you can also take a trip out to the bog by train. A fantastic and entertaining trip!
If you need refreshments or a meal before you go out into the bog area, there’s Café Soldug, which offers cakes, light dishes, open sandwiches and grilled food.
Lille Vildmose is located north of Øster Hurup, which lies north of Mariager Fjord on the east coast and is Denmark’s most child-friendly beach.
