Udbyhøj Strand

The swimming season begins in June and ends in mid-September. This beach meets the European Union's Blue Flag criteria. There is a kiosk in the fishing harbour. The strait between north and south Udbyhøj connects the Kattegat to Randers Fjord and the Gudenå river system.

The ferry crossing dates back from 1613. Randers Fjord and some of its adjoining meadowlands have been designated as Natura 2000 preservation areas for birds, mammals, and plant life.

The ferry crossing connects a number of national biking and hiking trails as well as the international North Sea Trail. Among the many idyllic local biking and hiking opportunities are the 33 km trip to Randers and the 20 km route to Hadsund.
