Vejle Windmill

At the windmill you can experience:

- An exhibition on the history of the Vejle Mill and milling in the Vejle region
- The finest views across Vejle, the valley and the fiord
- The original and restored interiors complete with grinders, etc.

The windmill is the landmark of Vejle, situated on a hill at the southern end of town. The original mill from 1847 was reduced to ashes but was replaced by the current mill building in 1890. The mill interiors are from 1937.

The windmill has a grinding loft, rollers, and belt drive and functioned as a working mill until 1960.

In January and July, the Vejle Museums publishes an activity brochure, which is available from local public libraries, tourist offices and exhibition venues. You can also access the brochure at
