Get active in East Jutland

Silkeborg lakes
Riding in a prairie wagon, cycling, angling, kayaking - whatever you're in to, East Jutland is the place to try it!

Saddle up!

Why not experience the green island of Samsø at the helm of a prairie wagon? You can hire a prairie wagon for a week’s holiday and take in the island’s sights at a relaxed pace.

The Military Road

Hike the popular walking and cycling route known as the Military Road (Hærvejen), an ancient trade route which takes you all the way from Viborg to the German border. You can also take part in the annual Hærvejsmarchen, a kind of pilgrimage for hikers in Scandinavia.

On the water

Gudenåen and the Silkeborg Lakes are great for canoeing and kayaking. If you’re an angler, you’ll find great fishing waters all over East Jutland and along the Kattegat coast.
