The perfect location

Aarhus is a dynamic city on the Jutland peninsula. From here, beach, harbour and forest are all only a 15-minute bike ride away. The area around Aarhus also offers the biggest concentration of attractions in Denmark. Denmark’s youngest city!

13% of Aarhus’ population are students, making Aarhus the youngest city in Denmark. Historically though, it’s one of the oldest. 315,000 people live in Aarhus and 1.2 million people live in the greater Aarhus area, so it’s the perfect size for a weekend break or family getaway.

Culture in Aarhus

Being young at heart means that the city can offer you a wide spectrum of cultural experiences, from nightlife, cultural events and shopping to the best restaurants in the region. Aarhus is also home to popular festivals, such as Food Festival, SPOT Festival and NorthSide Music Festival.

Diverse museums

Visit the distinctive art museum, ARoS, to see groundbreaking works from some of the world’s most progressive artists. At Moesgaard Museum, you can witness artefacts from the earliest period of the Viking Age. Den Gamle By - The Old Town Museum is a unique, international attraction which you can walk around with your whole family.

Frequently named as the number one shopping destination in Scandinavia, Aarhus has the biggest international brands and Scandinavian shops and designers waiting to be discovered. So pack your shopping bags and take a little piece of Denmark home with you.
