Bicycle Innovation Lab
Bicycle Innovation Lab in Copenhagen caters to the curious, the cycling enthusiasts, the tourist, the City Planner, public institutions and private companies.
The aim of the cultural centre is to raise awareness of the particular Danish cycling culture through speeches and lectures, events and exhibits evolving around the bike and bicycle traffic.
Bicycle library
Bicycle Innovation Lab also features a bicycle library, where you can borrow new and experimental types of bikes as well as offering on-site work-shop facilities, where seminars can be held and prototypes will be developed.
The majority of bikes avaliable in the library are donated through a cooperation with Post Denmark. This contingent of bikes will both be used for guided tours and for remodelling and developing new bikes in the workshop.
Other examples of bikes that can be borrowed are the bicycle sculpture, The Conversation Bicycle - which takes three people to ride - and you can catch a ride in a velomobile - the Leitra - among others.
Remember to bring an ID with you (passport or driving licence) and DKK 500 for deposit.
Guided tours in spring
Beginning in the spring of 2012, Bicycle Innovation Lab will arrange guided tours around Copenhagen focusing on cycling culture and infracstructure.
There will also be cycling related events as well as an exhibition about how Copenhagen went from being an ordinary European capital city to becoming a leading cycling capital in the world.
