Bjørnekælderen at Frederiksberg has been in operation on the premises since 1895, and legend has it that a bear tamer once took shelter with his bears in this cellar, hence the name of the place.

As a next-door neighbour to the Betty Nansen Theatre, Restaurant Bjørnekælderen offers a special pre-theatre menu served from 17:00 to 19:30, on Saturdays to 20:30.
