Skansen in Hals provides a framework for SortkrudtsFestival in Hals. Cannons and muskets roars days started from Skansen. "Nordjyske Black powder shooters" appear in old military uniforms and give performances, in the best western style.
 
Approximately every half hour they shoot with guns and handguns. There are also interesting demonstrations and live stories about the old weapons. Working booths and various funny activities for children and grown-ups are also included.

The organizer, Hals Museum provides free access as well as free parking.
