During time of the Medieval Kirkeengen belonged to the great Cistercienser monastery in Slangerup.

Recently a nature preservation project has been carried out for the area and today a rich bird life can be seen here.

Access to Kirkeengen directly from the trafic terminal "Slangerup Rutebilstation".
