Danhostel Gudhjem
The youth hostel in Gudhjem is situated close to the harbour. If you choose to stay here you will be visiting one of Denmark’s most popular tourist destinations. No other town in Denmark is as idyllic and charming as this fishing hamlet with steep streets, where the houses are almost situated on terraces in the cliff walls. Gudhjem has around 800 permanent residents and its businesses include a grocer’s, baker, co-operative store, clothes shops, cinema, post office and various art shops. There are also a good number of restaurants, some of which are open all year. It is only approx. 500 metres from the ‘Sct. Jørgens gaard’ youth hostel to the swimming pool, which has a cafeteria, sauna, solarium and a 40 m water slide. There is a bathing beach next to the small fishing hamlet of Melsted almost a kilometre south of Gudhjem. The terrain in and around Gudhjem is ideal for walks of various lengths. There is a great deal of variety and many paths, both in the forest and along the coast.
