In the centre of the library you'll find a big lending area with a section for children and one for adults, a combined theatre and lecture hall, and conference rooms. The furniture in the children´s library is designed by Alvar Alto and the decoration is done by the painter Ole Schwalbe.

You can take out books, magazines, videos, CD-ROMs and music CDs. We also offer free Internet access, and you are welcome to use our conference and study rooms. The library theatre seats 165 people and can be used for studio-theatrical performances, screenings of films and lectures. The gross area of the library totals 6,450 square metres divided on three levels with room for 200,000 materials for lending.
