Jens Baggesen
Statue of the towns famous son, the poet and author Jens Baggesen, born in Korsør 15 February 1764, died in Hamburg 3 October 1826.
The sculptor Julius Vilhelm Schultz wanted to express Jens Baggesen more as a thinker rather than a poet. The statue holds a pansy in its hand to symbolize, that the town often had left him out in the cold.
