Jomfruens Egede
The manor of Jomfruens Egede (Virgins Oak Grove), first mentioned in 1345, is an archiectural pearl set in the beautiful landscape of Southern Zealand, 45 minutes from Copenhagen, with far-reaching views of field and forest and close to wonderful beaches, surrounded by sites of historic interest and several golf courses.
CF Harsdorff and JC Lillie were the architects responsible for the alterations to Jomfruens Egede in 1790 and today there is no doubt that the decorations of rooms and furnishings are very special, indeed the National Museum states in its report on Jomfruens Egede that "It is certainly one of the masterpieces, if not the masterpiece of Danish late eighteenth century interiors".
Egede (Oak Grove) as it is known locally, provides a beautiful setting for all kinds of functions: christenings, weddings, birthdays, parties, board meetings, seminars, receptions, workshops, shooting and golfing parties for up to 120 guests.
There are 17 double bedrooms with superb views of fields meadows and forest.
