Museum Østjylland - Cultural History Museum Randers was founded in 1872, making it one of the oldest and biggest local museums in Denmark. The exhibitions tell the story of life in the area from the first inhabitants around 100,000 years ago up to present day. .

See the runic stone from Mejlby which tells the dramatic tale of a voyage across the sea with images and lights. You can also see paintings in the "Buhlske Stuer", a collection of rooms belonging to an art collector dating from the 1900s with 334 works of art, including 48 etchings by Rembrandt.
