Sohngaardsholms Park

The park is situated not far from the center of Aalborg – a 6,2 ha. city-park landscaped in 1959/1960 at the small castle ‘Sohngårdsholm’.

At the park one can among other things see one of Denmark’s largest collections of crabapple-trees.  There was approximately 300 appletrees with more than 120 sorts of ornamental apples, primarily crabapples.  Meanwhile, in 2007 the population was thinned out, so that only approximately 150 remained during the following year.

‘Sohngårdsholmparken’ is a unique fruit-oasis in the big city where especially those interested in apples can combine history and relaxation in the nature.  It is possible to come there by car, bicycle, by walking or bus lines 2, 14 and 15.
