5 May 2013 is is Søren Kierkegaard’s 200th birthday. This will be celebrated all over the world. In Copenhagen, the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre (SKC) has arranged lots of events and lectures.

On 5 May, the jubilee will begin with a festive church service in The Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen. This will be followed by a formal lecture at the main building of the University of Copenhagen at Frue Plads.

On the same occasion the Søren Kierkegaard Centre Foundation will present the complete edition of Søren Kierkegaards Skrifter to the University of Copenhagen.

On Monday 6 May, a scholarly international Kierkegaard conference will begin, which will run until Wednesday.

Both in Copenhagen and in Berlin Kierkegaard city walking tours will be organized, featuring visits to the places where Kierkegaard lived and other sites relevant for his life and work.

In the Spring 2013, the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre will offer a number of interdisciplinary Kierkegaard courses in both Danish and English.

Also in the Spring the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre will arrange a more popular lecture series about Kierkegaard’s life and work.
