Steen Steensen Blicher
Steen Steensen Blicher 1782-1848, writer and clergyman in the villages of Thorning and Spentrup.
He translated the poems of Ossian and he was later celebrated for his short stories, such as Fragments from the Diary of a Parish Clerk, poems such as Birds of Passage, and tales such as E Bindstouw. He also spoke at the large open-air meetings at the Himmelbjerget prior to the making of the Danish constitution.
