Bagtorvsområdet - bygningsmiljø
The quarter dates back to the 1850ies, from the prosperity time of the town.
The long house, Kapellanstræde 6-12, is the oldest house of the quarter, built in 1761. The house was the main building to a curate?s estate.
The quarter behind the town square with its low, dense buildings and narrow paving streets, back gardens and back buildings housed the shopkeepers and craftsmen of the town and their workshops.
The quarter is described in Danish and German in the guidebook ?Byvandring, Maribo?.
