Bronzealderhøj i Hennekesdam
In the bottom of this large burial mound, 19 x 4,25 m., an oak coffin from the bronze age was found in 1935, excavated by the National Museum, and called the Jels Find.
The coffin is 3,25 m. long and 1 m. wide. The grave had already been plundered in olden times, however, a man`s sewn hat of wool, some small jewellery pieces, a horn comb and parts of his leather shoes were left.
The approx. 4000-year-old find is exhibited in Haderslev Museum.
