Denmark and the Russian Empire 1600-1900
The exhibition chronicles Russo-Danish relations 1600-1900 through a display of precious artifacts gathered from both Danish and Russian museums. Alongside many other treasures, you can see the splendid Kremlin silverware delivered to Russia as part of a dowry by the son of King Christian IV, Valdemar Christian, for his marriage to the daughter of the Russian Tsar. With such prominent names as Tsar Peter the Great and Catherine the Great, you can experience the magnificence of the Russian court, as well as through an exhibition of elegant gowns from the great court balls of the Winter Palace. Finally, experience the fascinating life of the Danish Princess Dagmar who married into the Russian royal family in 1866.
The exhibition is on display from the 30th of August to the 1st of December.
