Lindholm Høje

© VisitAalborg

At Lindholm Høje, archeologists have found several burial sites and settlements originating from both the Germanic Iron Age and the Viking Age, two very important eras in Danish history.

Due to sand drift, the burial site was covered completely by sand in the year AD 1000, which preserved the stone markings and a newly-ploughed field to the great delight of archeologist and visitors at Lindholm Høje.

Lindholm Høje Museum
At the Lindholm Høje Museum you will find two archeological exhibitions about the Iron Age and the Viking Age, which shows how the people at Lindholm used to live as well as their trade and raid in other countries.

Further information can be found on the danish based webpage of Nordjyllands historiske museum or on +45 99 31 74 40, where you can also arrange guided tours.

Lindholm høje can be reached by car, bicycle, walking or with bus no. 2 towards Uttrup Nord.
