In June 2013, Maritime Museum of Denmark opens in Elsinore close to Copenhagen. The museum is entering a brand new experience oriented era in a spectacular building designed by the internationally recognized architectural firm BIG, Bjarke Ingels Group.
Only a 45 minute drive from Copenhagen and in the immediate vicinity of Hamlet's Kronborg Castle, you'll find a world of maritime adventure from June 2013. The new M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark is filled with everything from sailor inspired identity, fashion, tattoos and masculinity to navigation tools and amazing, large ship models.
Colourful scenography and immersive film projections
The exhibitions in the new museum are based on interactivity and involvement and have a strong focus on visual experiences with colorful scenography and immersive film projections.
When the guests move through the exhibitions they will experience changes in mood and design. Parts of the exhibitions are narrow and labyrinth-like with surprises around every corner, while other parts open up and provide a view of the impressive architecture.
