Danish fashion design is a rapidly growing scene with new names blazing trails around the globe. Copenhagen Fashion Festival happens twice a year and here you’ll see the new collections of the most talented designers Denmark has to offer. You’ll find Danish labels on high streets all over the world and here are some successful names to keep your eyes open for, in Denmark and abroad.

Munthe plus Simonsen

Munthe plus Simonsen was established in 1994 by designers Naja Munthe and Karen Simonsen. The company has stores in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Oslo and you can buy pieces from their collections in over 15 countries. Described as urban bohemian, their style is characterised by the use of both edgy and luxury items.

Day Birger et Mikkelsen

Day Birger et Mikkelsen's ambition is to create contemporary everyday glamour for men and women, using ethnic inspiration, embroidery and embellishment. Visit their flagship stores in Copenhagen and Odense, or look out for them in over 25 countries internationally.

Mads Nørgaard - Copenhagen

Mads Nørgaard started with menswear, but is now making timeless and classic clothing for men and women. You can visit the flagship store on Strøget in Copenhagen and buy their clothing via more than 400 distributors in Europe, the USA and Japan.

Baum und Pferdgarten

Baum und Pferdgarten was founded in 1999 by Danish designers Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave. The two designers work a lot with contrast in their design and you can pick up their clothes in over 20 countries worldwide and cities such as Copenhagen, London, Paris, New York and Tokyo.

Ivan Grundahl

Ivan Grundahl is one of Denmark's most successful designers, who’s been creating cool, avant-garde clothing for women for the past 40 years. His collections take a lot of inspiration from Japan and you can visit his stores in Copenhagen, Oslo and New York.

Rützou

Rützou was founded by the Danish designer Susanne Rützou in 2000. Her poetic realist style is classic and feminine and her clothes are extremely popular in Denmark. You can purchase Rützou across Europe, the USA and Japan.

Bruuns Bazaar

Bruuns Bazaar was created by brothers Teis and Bjørn Bruun in 1994. The company's simple style has garnered much international recognition and was the first Danish brand to enter the official show calendar in Paris.
