Snaptun Marina (Lystbådehavn)

This beautiful marina is located in a cosy setting on the approach to Horsens Fjord. In the small ferry and fishing village you will experience a charming maritime atmosphere and a great setting for a sailing holiday.

Experience the welcoming harbour environment

Snaptun is a small maritime oasis, consisting of a small fishing harbour, a ferry service connecting to Hjarnø and Endelave and the newer marina. There is always lively activity here - tourists who want to go out and discover the area’s islands. Sailors who enjoy life on the water. Summer guests in search of the sea and enjoying an ice cream in the sun.

At the harbour there are eateries, the beach and green oases where you can enjoy a quiet moment. You will find that it is clean and tidy, and special efforts are made to keep the area welcoming for the harbour’s many guests.

The marina in Snaptun has 71 berths, and as a guest sailor, you can moor in the marina for DKK 150 per night including crew.

Beautiful facilities for sailors

There is a newer clubhouse in the marina with excellent facilities that can be used by all users, including guest sailors. There are nice bathrooms with a family shower and a pleasant living room with children’s play-things and a well-equipped kitchen. You can sit on the clubhouse balcony and enjoy the breath-taking sea views. The clubhouse is adjacent to Café Snaptun, where you can order a good meal, something to drink or a cold ice cream.

Scattered around the marina there are picnic benches and plenty of barbecue space. If the weather is not at its best, then there is an opportunity to barbecue under shelter and cover.

There is a playground for the children and a crabbing bridge that should probably bring joy to the youngest of the family.

Explore the area

The marina is located in a scenic area with both beach and forest. The popular hiking route, The Snaptun-Juelsminde Coastal Trail, starts at the marina, which is one of the country’s most beautiful and most varied hiking routes. The first piece of the route goes along the water through Tønballe Forest. There are many beautiful vantage points here - including a large observation tower and the “Swedish redoubt” with canons.

From the harbour in Juelsminde you can look over at the island of Hjarnø, which is just 5 minutes by boat. Take the boat or hop on the ferry that runs a regular service all day, and you can also take the Endelave ferry to the wild rabbits island in the Kattegat.

At the clubhouse you have the possibility to borrow a bicycle. For example, take a ride to nearby Palsgaard Castle Park or the narrow peninsula, Borre Knob, located a few kilometres away. Or head to the neighbouring town of Glud and visit the open-air Glud Museum. Here in Glud you can also do your grocery shopping.

You can take bus 104 from the marina, which runs between Horsens and Juelsminde. Visit the delicious eateries in Juelsminde or enjoy great cultural or shopping experiences in Horsens.
