Sophiendal, originally a three-winged half-timbered estate painted by the owner, the baron G. Rosenkranz in 1875.
Over a period of 12 years the baron built the present main estate from red monk stones produced in the estates own brickyard.
The estate was built according to the tradition of estate architecture of the 16th century by architecht H.B. Storck.
The farm buildings are built in 1885 and 1871. Sophiendal owns 498 ha of wood and farm land.
Next to the oldest monastry church of Denmark and next to wide lake and meadow areas and various hills, Sophiendal estate is part of one the most characterstic landscapes.
You can stay overnight in rooms with four poster beds or just enjoy a good meal in the restaurant, you are welcome.
