Taxis and car hire

Taxi
All taxis in Copenhagen are metered and all accept international credit cards. Taxis are part of the public transport system and fares are subject to government regulations. If you wish to pay by credit card, please make sure to advise the driver before you start the trip (a surcharge may apply if payment is made by credit card).

Please remember not to disclose any credit card pin-codes. Drivers are obliged to accept all trips – also short ones! Tips are included in the rate. There is no surcharge for suitcases, driving to/from the airport etc.
Many taxis also carry bicycles – there is a surcharge for this. Available taxis show the green sign ‘FRI’ in the window. Your hotel will be happy to call a taxi for you. The trip between the airport and the city takes approximately 20 minutes and costs around DKK 250 depending on traffic.

Note that taxis in Sweden (Malmö) are not price-controlled, so always agree on the fare before starting your journey.
