The Black Geomuseum

The Black Geo Museum is a museum is one of a kind, focusing on a wide range of exciting stones and minerals, rocks, fossils and petroglyphs, and of course amber with insects in.

The museum exhibits a wide range of finds from the local area that have been brought to Falster either by the sea or by the ice ages pushing the rocks over great distances. There are in particular many fossils and stones with animal prints from Sweden and Norway.

Museum visitors may also enjoy a large geological collection of fossils and rocks from around the globe - from the colourful glittering quartz stones to the famous "North Star" garnet, said to be the largest in the world. It's certainly big!

The exhibition is complemented by a series of short films and of course, you can also buy an exciting gift or a piece of jewellery in the museum shop.

The name of the museum comes from the colour of the building.
