The Danish National Business Archives was erected 1898-1902 by Royal surveyor, architect Hack Kampmann.

The minute ornamentation was partly executed in co-operation with the artist K. Hansen Reistrup.

Until 1963 the building was the seat of the National Library of Aarhus which is the Central Office of the municipal libraries of Denmark and the University Library of the University of Aarhus.

The National Library was moved to the University and today the building is the seat of The Danish National Business Archives.
