The stone of Hvissinge
With a weight of 250 tons Hvissingestenen is Zealand's largest stone and is considered a unique natural phenomenon.
The stone was found in 1966, but its location in connection with a future motorway was very unfortunate and action was taken to blow it to fragments. However, the National Agency for the Protection of Nature heard of the problem and a quick decision saved the stone, which was moved 90 m to its present location in Vestskoven Forest.
