Tidens Samling, Museum of Everyday Life in the 20th Century

Tidens Samling is a museum of housing, design and fashion in Denmark during the 20th century. The permanent exhibition shows living rooms from different decades with original furniture and everyday things that represent the time from 1900 to 1980. Our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in the living rooms where they may sit down, open the drawers, read the books, and put on music. The many details bring back memories to the adult audience while children and young people learn about the lives of past generations.

The museum also organises temporary exhibitions focusing on for example time periods, events, and Danish design from the 20th century. Apart from the exhibitions, Tidens Samling houses a library, a café, an area where you can try on clothes from different decades, and a museum shop.

Tidens Samling has existed since 1992 and was the first ‘hands-on’ museum of cultural history in Denmark. The museum is located in Kulturmaskinen as part of the Brandts area in the centre of Odense.

Visit us Monday to Saturday from 10am-4pm and the first Sunday of the month from 11am-3pm.
