The landmark of Vejle is situated on a hill in the southern end of the city. The original mill from 1847 burned down, but the current mill from 1890 soon followed. The furniture of the mill is from the 1930s. Vejle Windmill has a grinding loft, rollers, belt drive, etc. It functioned as a mill up to 1960.
Today, the mill houses an exhibition about the history of the mill and the running of mills in the Vejle area.
The Vejle Museums, VejleMuseerne, host an annual mill market in June. See the event calendar at www.vejlemuseerne.dk for dates and details.
Enjoy a spectacular view of the city, the river valley and the bay from the circular corridor of the mill.
