Noma – the world’s best restaurant [1]

You’ve probably heard the name, noma, blending the words Nordic and mad (food). But have you ever eaten there? Getting a table at the world’s best restaurant two years running, as voted by renowned Restaurant Magazine, is not so easy. But for those who book ahead, you’re in for an extraordinary culinary experience.

Harbour hideaway

Hidden away in an 18th century harbour warehouse in Copenhagen, noma [2] is Denmark’s only restaurant with two Michelin stars. Super chef René Redzepi [3] runs the noma kitchen, drawing on experience at some of the best restaurants around the world. But noma is not about fusion food, it’s a New Nordic kitchen.

The menu

You’ll find Scandinavian delicacies like Icelandic seaweed, Faroese deep-sea fish, Greenlandic musk ox and sorrel from Danish forests on your plate at noma. The chefs do all their own curing, smoking and pickling and are at the forefront of new techniques to combine and prepare ingredients in innovative ways. Tempted? Better go and get booking then!
