Royal Copenhagen's Christmas tables
Royal Copenhagen's Christmas tables exhibition is one of the most popular Christmas events in Copenhagen. Every year the tables are set by new artists and are on display on the first and second floor at the Royal Copenhagen complex.
The tradition began in 1963 and is very popular. This year the extravagant Christmas tables are set by singers, who all have written or rendered Christmas songs.
Six tables, each with their wonderful story, provide a creative view of Christmas. This year the theme is Christmas carols and each singer has decorated their table based on their favourite carol.
The tables are decorated by Caroline Henderson, Marie Carmen Koppel, Hellea Joof, Julie Berthelsen, Anne Dorte Michelsen and Cæcilie Norby.
Have a smushi!
At The Royal Café, in beautiful serene surroundings, you can have a smushi – the idea of sushi, but the taste of open faced sandwich.
The Royal Café faces a small cobble stoned courtyard with an open air Christmas market that serves Christmas smushis and traditional holiday sweets, such as brunkager, crisp, flat ginger cookies, ideal with a steaming cup of hot chocolate or glögg.
