Jolene Bar

Music-focused, attitude-free bar and club where you’ll meet a low-key, eclectic and LGBTQI+ friendly crowd who have one thing on their minds – dancing the night away and getting sweaty while they do it!

Kødbyen’s sweatiest, most inclusive club

You can’t go out in the Meatpacking District (“Kødbyen”) without going to Jolene. Having been open for more than a decade, it’s a Kødbyen classic where you can dance like no one’s watching. Nothing fancy about it – just great music, affordable drinks, and a relaxed, inclusive crowd that’s always been LGBTQI+ friendly.

Jolene programs their own roster of DJs mostly focused on electronic, dance music that you can really get down to from house to dub and techno. Friends of the house also program the music occasionally so you might see a release party or two here and there; mostly independent electronic music that can give you an insight into Copenhagen’s dance music scene.

Leave your attitude at the door

Jolene is a bar. Not a cocktail venue. At Jolene's, you drink your beer from the bottle. Period. Shabby furniture and tattered lamps all contribute to the relaxed, industrial-chic atmosphere in which vibe-thrusting DJs spin their way through the night. Now and then live rock bands might take over, but whatever the music, the vibe is always welcoming, cool, and laid back. Less the place to see and be seen, more the place to just be yourself.

Check out the current line-up of DJs on Jolene’s regularly updated Facebook and Instagram pages, where photos of the venue will give you a good idea of the vibe.
