A royal reception awaits your guests when "King Christian IV" personally greets them at the airport. Once they have checked into their hotels, a sumptuous lunch will be laid on at Sølyst - the Royal Shooting Club, which is about 20 minutes north of Copenhagen. After that they'll go on board a 125 year-old schooner to Elsinore, where a visit to Kronborg Castle, the home of Prince Hamlet in Shakespeare's famous drama, is planned. An exciting guided tour, visiting the impressive Great Hall and continuing down into the dungeons and casemates, where your guests will encounter the sleeping figure of the Viking chieftain and freedom fighter, Holger the Dane. "King Christian IV" will then invite them all to a Kronborg Night - an unforgettable gala dinner at the castle.
The following day you continue west to Roskilde, centre of the Danish Viking settlements, where the Viking Ship Museum exhibits genuine viking longships and reconstructed vessels and provides a host of information on Viking life. You also visit Roskilde Cathedral, where 37 Danish monarchs are interred.
Back in Copenhagen, your group will be given a guided tour of the Royal sights in horse-drawn carriages driven by livery-clad coachment, before being served lunch at the city's oldest and most distinguishes hotel, the Hotel d'Angleterre.
In the afternoon, you will be welcomed to the Royal Theatre, where you will have the opportunity to go backstage and be introduced to the venerable Royal Ballet, originally inspired by August Bournonville. After a glass of champagne served on the theatre balcony by uniformed halberdiers, dinner will be presented in Christian IV's old Stock Exchange building, where you will be welcomed with a red carpet to an extravagant feast. The evening concludes at the Royal Theatre with a performance of the ballet Swan Lake, where you will be invited backstage to meet some of the dancers.
Copenhagen is exactly the right place to satisfy those shopping urges, with its shops, good food, culture and innovative design. The city's cycle taxis - the exotic Richshaws - are perfect for shopping trips, with plenty of leg room and space for shopping bags. Start at Illums Bolighus, with three storeys of Danish and international design and interors, followed by a stroll down Strædet, a small pedestrian street with lots of fashion items and silverware of exquisite quality. Have lunch at one of the small cafés on Istedgade among small chic boutiques and gift shops, and visit Designer Zoo, a workshop and shop for young Danish Designers, before making a final stop on Værnedamsvej - one of the city's most charming streets. The restaurant "1th" offers a 7-course gourmet menu in cosy surroundings, and you can spend the night at Hotel Skt Petri, Denmark's first design hotel, where there's just time for a glass in the champagne bar before bedtime. The next day's programme could include the Danish Museum of Decorative Art, with its extensive collection of Danish and foreign design, or the current exhibition at the Danish Design Centre, before going on to tickle your taste buds with a Mediterranean-style lunch at restaurant "søren k", located in one of the city's architectural masterpieces, the Black Diamond (part of the Royal Library). In the evening you could meet up at one of the city's trendy new in-places or Michelin starred restaurants and enjoy a delicious gourmet meal. After that, why not move on to one of the many night clubs or bars?
For those who "just have to" play golf, Copenhagen and the Øresund region feature no less than 106 golf courses waiting for you to drop in and deliver that hole-in-one. The beautiful natural surroundings and short distances to the sea also invite you to sample a wide range of other exciting and challenging activities - why not try your hand on a lightning-fast Zodiac speed boat? You can steer the boat yourselves, with the help of professionals who specialise in outdoor activities and team-building, and perhaps sail out to Flakfortet, a small island fort in the sea off Copenhagen. Once a Danish naval base, the fort is now used for team-building activities such as water sports, climbing or rappelling. Here you can also enjoy a meal in the restaurant before returning to the city or continue to Base Camp on the island of Holmen, where you can wield shisks, saucepans and pans at Bojesens Cooking School and transform the season's ingredients into a 3-course gourmet meal. Alternatively, DGI-Byen near Copenhagen Central Station offers climbing, shooting and ball-games, followed by some well-deserved relaxation in the jacuzzi or sauna. At dusk, an island is conjured forth in the middle of the swimming pool, providing the perfect setting for a gala dinner to round off a successful day.
