Do you recognize the old-fashioned inactive meeting concept - the one where you doze off and slide down till your head meets the back of your chair - and you wonder, 'Did I snore?' Every year, the meeting industry is spending millions of hours and dollars on meetings. And all too often, the results are dubious, largely because of constant one-way communication.
This is exactly what the Danish meeting industry and VisitDenmark - The Official Tourism Organisation of Denmark - intend to change, by introducing a series of new innovative meeting concepts - all labelled "Meetovation."
The concepts will help planners to transform the traditional one-way communication standards into a creative forum, in which the participants are actively involved in obtaining the tools and knowledge they need to strengthen their companies’ or associations’ overall objectives and strategies.
Key rules for all "Meetovation" concepts are:
• Participation
• Flexibility
• Responsibility
• Evaluation
• Relocation
On the website
www.meetovation.dk planners will, for the first time, be able to choose between categories of meeting objectives based on the purpose of the meeting. The website features a ”magic cube” to turn for illustrations of the ”Meetovation” key rules, as well as detailed descriptions of all the individual meeting concepts.
“The format is truly inspirational for planners of all types of meetings and conferences, and it demonstrates a new way of thinking – all the way into the core of the meeting itself, and not limited to describing the ever so beautiful surroundings and banqueting options” says Lars Blicher-Hansen, VisitDenmark.
